What is the chronological order of the “Harry Potter” movies?

The franchise was adapted for cinema between 2001 and 2011 and will receive a new series version in the coming years.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the “Harry Potter” book franchise, adapted for cinema between 2001 and 2011, will receive a new version, now in the format of a series for Max, the company’s new streaming platform, scheduled to debut in 2026.

“We are thrilled to allow viewers to discover Hogwarts in a completely new way,” said Casey Bloys, head of content at HBO Max, in the announcement.

Published between 1997 and 2007, the “Harry Potter” saga was adapted into eight movies, released between 2001 and 2011. Years later, the franchise also received a theatrical sequel, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, and a prequel in theaters, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, scheduled to be a pentalogy, but with only three movies released to date.

The new proposal is to explore narratives from books that, due to the limitations of movies, ended up not reaching the big screen. “This new Max Original series will take a deep dive into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy all these years,” he said.
